“We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything than when we are playing.” C.Schaefer
When we face challenges and difficulties as Adults, it can be assumed that talking therapies are the only option available to us. However, it can be hard to find the words and share what we are experiencing. Adults can experience emotions or moods that feel overwhelming, confusing, or simply too much to bear. Sometimes words are just not enough to express what is or has happened to us.
Dramatherapy integrates all aspects of the arts to work therapeutically with you as a whole person. It offers you a way to explore your difficulties in a creative way, with the option of using creative materials. Sessions will be led by your needs and preferences, so you don’t need any experience in the arts or drama to benefit. I will work alongside you, and help you find a way to safely express and explore what you need to.

Here what others have to say.
Karen always holds a very safe space in which I felt incredibly supported
Karen is very approachable but also maintains an air of professionalism. This allows for a safe environment with a feeling of confidence in sharing personal information. Dramatherapy has impacted on the relations I have with my friends and family. I realised how adjusting the smallest of decisions can be life altering
“Karen has helped me understand relationships with family and how this effected my hair-pulling and feelings towards myself. I have learnt to be more forgiving of myself and issues out of my control. I have learnt to accept who I am. Often people with Trichotillomania don’t tell anyone because of embarrassment and misunderstanding. If they were to come forward for Dramatherapy I think they would find it really helpful”
